As a child, I followed my father, who was for many years, the cellarman in a large winery in Montalcino. Then, at the age of fourteen, I started working. So, I began my farming experience in the vineyard, learning about the vines and growing cycle. I learned to treat them, to prune them, to do grafts. For nine years I worked in a big winery in Montalcino, supported by skilled workers, where I could improve my techniques. Thanks to my experience and hard work, I have reached a certain autonomy in this field, that fills me with pride. I have always lived in the countryside and my home has become my refuge, so my wife and my children. My family is from generations, bound to this land and working in the countryside has always been part of lives. I owe everything to my family, especially to my father, who taught me the secrets of this work, both in the vineyard and the cellar. I love being around people, I like to talk about my work and my wines and certainly I will do everything possible to improve this aspect. I believe in Brunello di Montalcino and I believe in the unique characteristics the Sangiovese can express in this territory. Nothing is left to chance, we care personally every step, from the vineyard to the bottle. The result is a harmonious wine that is very appreciated by consumers. My own winery, Cava d’Onice, is run by my wife and me. Our wines have to be the pure expression of the territory they were born.
